Building Self-Reliant and Balanced Society
Social Action for Rural Community (SARC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering marginalized and underprivileged communities through sustainable development initiatives. Established in 1996 and based in Sambalpur, Odisha, SARC has been working relentlessly to improve the quality of life of rural families, tribal communities, women, farmers and children across Western Odisha.
For nearly three decades, we have partnered with communities, government institutions, development agencies and corporate organizations to address poverty, promote social justice, strengthen livelihoods and create opportunities for inclusive growth. Our work focuses on empowering people with the knowledge, skills and resources needed to become active participants in their own development journey.
Our Journey
What began as a grassroots initiative to support vulnerable communities has evolved into a respected development organization implementing impactful programs across multiple sectors. Through participatory planning and community engagement, SARC has successfully reached hundreds of villages and transformed thousands of lives through sustainable and people-centered interventions.
